LEARNING THROUGH LANDSCAPES LOCAL SCHOOL NATURE GRANTS – Awards of up to £500 are available to provide outdoor learning training and equipment to schools and early years providers in England, Scotland and Wales. __________

o Application deadline: FRIDAY 17th JUNE 2022. Further application deadlines for 2022 are provided below. o Funder: Learning Through Landscapes (founded 1990. Charity number 803270. Total charitable expenditure during the year ended 31 March 2020: £1,517,081). o Who can apply: Children's Nurseries, Early Years Providers, Pre-schools, Primary schools, Secondary schools in England, Scotland and Wales (the scheme is not open to schools in Northern Ireland). o Key words: Outdoor Learning, Nature, Environment, Training, Children and Young People, Early Years, Schools, England, Scotland, Wales. ____________

Learning Through Landscapes’ Local School Nature Grants aim to promote outdoor learning among young children by awarding early years providers and schools in Great Britain with a budget of up to £500 for outdoor resources and training.

Please note that Learning through Landscapes does not provide cash grants. Successful applicants will be expected to purchase products from the Local School Nature Grants product catalogue.

Successful applicants will also be supported by a 2-hour training session. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate how children are actively involved in making decisions about projects that also engage with local communities. Grants can be used to purchase outdoor materials from the Local School Nature Fund catalogue such as (please note this is not an exclusive list): o Bee and insect hotels. o Bird boxes. o Gardening tools. o Outdoor clothing for children and adults, such as wellington boots, and o Wildlife watching kits, including outdoor cameras. Applications must come from early years groups or schools. Applications from Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs), ‘Friends of’ groups and governors are not eligible.

The next deadline for applications is Friday 17th June, with decisions on successful applications expected to be announced at the beginning of July 2022.

Two further application deadlines are scheduled for 2022, as follows:

1. Friday 2nd September (decisions on successful applications are expected to be made by Friday 16th September 2022), and 2. Friday 11th November (decisions on successful applications are expected to be made by Friday 25th November 2022).
